Bluebells Day Nursery is Ofsted registered (113379) to take 22 children aged between 3 months and 8 years.
We are open 52 weeks a year excluding bank holidays.
Under 2’s can attend 8-6 (full day) or 8-1 (Am)/ 1-6 (pm)
Over 2’s can attend 8-6 (full day) or 8-1 (Am)/ 1-6 (pm) or 8.00-3.30 (pd)
You can drop off and pick up anytime between your booked sessions
We offer term time only sessions to children over the age of 2 years – this is a minimum booking of four full days
The waiting list is checked at regular intervals. Priority will be given to children with sibling who already attend the nursery or are booking full time places. We will then prioritise spaces according to the length of time on the waiting list.
Once the parent/guardian has returned the completed registration form including the £50 non-refundable registration fee, your child will then be placed on the admissions list.
Children need to be booked in for a minimum of two half day or one full day sessions a week. This is for the benefit of your child as it helps them to settle well at nursery.
Although your child may join the waiting list there is no guarantee that the required spaces will be available, but we will do all that we can to accommodate each individual child. Once a place is confirmed, payment of registration fee will secure the place.
We can provide one-off, last minute childcare cover (except bank holidays and Christmas week).
A non-returnable registration fee of £50 is required to cover administration costs.
To take advantage of this we will require the registration fee and you and your child will also need to participate in an induction period.
The registration form should be completed so that we have all the necessary information about your child.
Priority will be given to children who regularly attend the nursery. Availability cannot be guaranteed but we will make every effort to help.
Session and day rates apply. You will receive an invoice on the first day of attendance to cover the childcare booked. This will need to be paid for by your child’s last session (please see invoice information).
Extra sessions and change of sessions
To book an extra session you will need to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you need to change your child’s sessions we require 4 weeks’ notice in writing. This is subject to availability and is worked on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
We require 24 hours notice of an extra session cancellation and there will be a charge if 24 hours is not given.
We do NOT swap sessions. We plan our staffing ratios carefully and ‘swaps’ may de-stabilise the numbers with a potential negative impact on the provision for the other children.
Termination of childcare
If you wish to terminate your childcare we require 4 weeks notice in writing, fees are payable for this period.
Your child will be entitled to receive 570 hours of funding the term after their third birthday.
The term before your child become eligible, we will send you the relevant paperwork to be completed before the end of the term.
We do not offer free entitlement hours on part day sessions.
We split your child funding over 52 week a year, this will mean that your child will be entitled to claim 10.9 hours a week (this is worked out by dividing 570 hours by 52 weeks)
These hours will appear on your monthly invoice as free entitlement (FE).
We require full payment for ‘Holiday’ days.
We require full payment for sick days. Please see Administration of medicine and sickness policy for more information.
In the event that the nursery has to close due to snow, flooding or any other emergency reasons, you will receive your sessions back in lieu – there will be an expiry date on these sessions and this will be at the management’s discretion. For more information please see Adverse weather and emergency closure policy
Induction and settling in process
Once we have received your child’s completed registration form we will put them onto our admissions / waiting list. You will be contacted 4 weeks prior to your child starting with us to arrange induction and settling in sessions.
Induction sessions will be completed by your child’s key worker and will take 40 – 60 minutes. We offer two settling in sessions which are 2 hours long and free of charge.
You will receive your invoice two weeks prior to the invoice payment date which is the 1st of every month. Invoices are processed a month in advance. Any payments made after the payment due date will incur a 10% charge and will be added to the following invoice. Persistent late payment or late payment of over two weeks may mean that your child will be unable to attend the Nursery and their place will be offered to another child.
Collection of children
On induction we will require you to give us a password for your child which anyone who picks up should be informed of. The nursery must be informed if anyone other than the specified persons are collecting – this is done either verbally, via email or phone call. We will not let anyone else pick up unless we have parental consent.
In order to comply with Ofsted requirements for staff;child ratio’s and insurance liability, it is essential that your child is collected promptly at the end of the nursery session. Late collection may incur a charge of £5 for every 5 minutes.
Little tums provide our hot lunches and teas. On induction the nursery should be informed of any dietary requirements which we will then be able to pass on to the company in order for them to cater for your child.
We ensure that all information about you and your child is kept confidential. No information will be shared with anyone else. If we are required to pass any information to other agencies we will ask for parental consent.
SEN and equal opportunities
Bluebells accepts 2 year old free entitlement – this must be completed online. Once your application has been accepted you will receive a reference number – please inform us of this number as soon as possible so that we are able to claim your child’s funding.
For more information please see equal opportunities, inclusion and diversity policy.
Questionnaires will be sent out to parents annually. All feedback is welcomed.
